4 days Morocco walking treks – Berber Villages & Toubkal Ascents
This 4 days Morocco Walking Treks hike at the high Atlas Mountains, we will accompany you to discover perfectly well crossed regions. This trekking tour will let you discover Imlil and Oukaimeden and their Valleys and Berber villages. it allows a beautiful sporty hike with the ascent, of an affordable level, Toubkal (4167m); Hiking Toubkal ascents with 4167 meters highest point of all North Africa. This summit is visible from the nearby mountains. Our trek to Toubkal, leads us to the discovery of lunar landscapes, through tiny berber villages clinging to the mountainside and meeting with nomads in the highlands and discover their life style.
Day 1 : Marrakech – Imi Oughlad – Tizian
The first day will be around 5 hours long trip. We will begin our trek via arranged transport from Marrakech to Imi Oughlad (1 hr 50 mins) where we will meet our guide, cook, and the mule. The trek will take us through a vast pine forest. Juniper, and oak trees, while we make our way to Tinzert, which will give a stunning view of the Ouirgan Valley before we finish the night in a local gite (a French term for a locally owned house).
Day 2 : Tizian – Tizi Oussem – Tamsoult
After 6 hours of trekking on the day, the trek will yield a view of the beautiful Azzaden Valley with colorful villages and hills, the Azzaden River circled by homes, and an amazing vista that includes the Tazaghart Plateau & a huge section of the Atlas Mountain chain. Our evening will finish at 7.00pm in Tamsouit Lodge or in tents, depending on the conditions.
Day 3 : Tamsoult – Ighouliden – Tizi Aguelzim – Toubkal
We will explore the biggest waterfall in the Toubkal region. A visually stunning start to the day before you embark upon 7-8 hours of trekking up a steep incline to reach the Aguelzim Pass at 3600m elevation. The pass has a breath-taking view over the Atlas Mountain villages and the plains of Elhaouz. We will spend our night in refuge or tents at an elevation of 3208m.
Day 4 : Toubkal – Marrrakech
After an early breakfast. We will trek up to the highest peak in North Africa “Mount Toubkal”– an enormous 4167m at its peak. Also known as “the roof of North Africa”. We will have an incredible view over the Saharan Desert plains, the Berber villages and valleys. Then, we will head down for lunch and will back to Imlil or to Marrakech. The final day trek will be about 8 hours in total.
